¡¡¡¡The Company has a team of highly qualified specialists for papermaking, coating technology, chemicals, automation, and printing. Heading the team are Prof. Lin Desen, former Vice President of China Pulp & Paper Research Institute and Vice Chairman of China¡¯s Committee for Coated and Specialty Papers, and State Council Subsidized Expert Prof. Wang Jide, who is also Chairman of the Committee for Carbonless Copy Paper under China Papermakers Society. ¡¡

¡¡¡¡This team, along with our experienced and well-educated managerial personnel for research and production management,and business administration are the cornerstone for the Company¡¯s growth and technical advancement.

¡¡¡¡As a National Key High-tech Enterprise, the Company has always a high regard to inputs in innovation and product R&D. We have invested nearly 30 million RMB in our Specialty Paper Technology Center, which is equipped with measurement, testing, experimental, and pilot trials equipment from the U.S., U.K., Japan, and so on.

¡¡¡¡In our Technology Center we make product R&D, test new recipes, make trials for process improvement, and collect product-related information, and so on. Our ability for product R&D takes the lead in the specialty paper industry. In December 1999, our Technology Center was certified as a ¡°Provincial Technology Center¡±.

¡¡¡¡We have 50 employees, most of whom are papermakers or chemists, working at our Technology Center. 70% of these employees hold intermediate or senior level technical titles (qualifications) and 41 of them have received at least 4-year university education.

¡¡¡¡Since the formation of our Technology Center, the Company has carried out over 40 studies, received 7 patents, and completed nearly 50 technical betterment projects for our Carbonless Copy Paper and Thermal Paper products. We have developed over 30 new products at our Technology Center, most of which have been commercialized and become new profit centers in our operations.
¡¡¡¡We cooperate with both Chinese and foreign research institutions in an effort to commercialize what we have achieved at our Technology Center in a faster pace, we have long-term relationship with BASF central lab, China Pulp and Paper Academy, Pulp and Paper National Key Lab in South China University of Technology, Guangdong Paper Research Institute, China Offshore Oil Nanhai (West) Company Research Academy, Zhanjiang Ocean University test center, Changsha Design Institute of Light Industry, and so on, and have benefited from this cooperating with these partners.
